Silent Cries Behind the Chains
In parts of rural Pakistan, the cruel practice of bear baiting still persists despite being banned under the Pakistan Wildlife Act. Nearly a hundred bears remain trapped in this cycle of abuse: chained, defenceless, and forced to fight trained dogs for entertainment. Their teeth and claws are removed, their wounds left untreated. This ongoing cruelty is a stark reminder of the urgent need to protect and respect our wildlife.

We are actively working in collaboration with WWF-Pakistan to rescue and rehabilitate bears trapped in the illegal practice of bear baiting. Through joint field operations, our teams identify and safely remove these animals from cruel captivity, ensuring their medical treatment and recovery under expert veterinary care.

After being rescued, the bears are treated, rehabilitated, and later moved to safe wildlife sanctuaries or when possible, released back into their natural habitats. Along with these rescue efforts, we conduct awareness programs in rural communities to educate people about wildlife laws and the cruelty behind such practices.
We also collaborate with local authorities to strengthen law enforcement, track illegal handlers, and promote long-term wildlife protection. Every bear we save is a small victory toward ending this cruel tradition for good.
